Elections & Absentee Voting
You can check if you are registered to vote by going to the State of Wisconsin's myvote website. If you are not registered in the Village of Plover, it would be a good idea to register before election day to save yourself some time.
- An elector must have lived at his/her current address at least 28 days prior to the election in order to vote in the resident's municipality.
- If your driver's license or Wisconsin ID does not reflect your current address, you must bring along another form of proof of residency.
- Voters are required to provide their most recent address where they were previously registered to vote.
- In-person registration ends at 5 pm on the Friday before Election Day and begins again on Election Day.
Any qualified elector may request to vote by absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen who will be 18 years of age or older on election day and who has resided in the ward where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 days before the election. The elector must also be registered.
If you are unable to vote at the polls on Election Day, you can the State of Wisconsin's myvote website to request that a ballot be sent to you or you can personally go to the Clerk's Office and vote absentee. In person absentee voting begins 14 days before the election and ends at 5 pm the Friday before the election.
Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined to home or a care facility, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. Contact our office if this applies.
The official polling place in the Village of Plover is in the Municipal Building Activities Room. The Village is divided into three Village Wards and five County Supervisory Districts. Residents can register to vote in the Village Clerk's Office during regular office hours up until 5 pm the Friday before an Election or they may register at the polls on Election Day.
